Fiber lasers are more metal-cut materials, while CO2 lasers are more non-metal-cut materials. Below, we compare CO2 lasers and fiber lasers, aiming to help you select a laser source.

Fiber VS CO2 Laser

Next, the fiber laser.

Photoelectric conversion: 25% – 30%.

Small scale, light weight and lightweight style.

And the optical path is clear in nature, and the laser passes through the optical fiber and can be directly attached to the cutting head.

No requirement for repairs.

Cutting range:Suitable for cutting metal materials, it can also be cut for high-reflective materials such as copper.

        Second, the CO2 laser.

Photoelectric conversion 8 percent-12%.

High number, high environmental standards.

The configuration of the optical path is difficult and there are more optical lenses in the resonant cavity.

Normal repairs, such as calibration of mirrors, maintenance of cavities, etc.

Adjusting the optical path before use requires manual correction of the optical path and frequent maintenance.

Cutting range: especially suitable for cutting non-metallic materials, not suitable for cutting high-reflective materials.

What's more, the fiber laser has a wavelength of 1070 nm, it can't be readily absorbed by non-metal. It is not ideal for cutting non-metallic material. The CO2 laser has a wavelength of 10.64 um, non-metal materials readily absorb the weavelength. It is also more ideal for cutting non-metallic materials. The life of RF tubes can be influenced by a vast number of constant, fast-cut metal materials.
