  Stainless steel sheet has a small degree of restraint. It is heated and cooled locally in the process of welding, which results in uneven heating and cooling. The weldment will produce uneven stress and strain. When the longitudinal shortening of the weld exceeds a certain value on the edge pressure of the sheet, it will produce serious wave shaped deformation, which will affect the appearance quality of the workpiece. Before welding, fix the points first, the more the fixed points are, the better the distribution is, and then adopt the "segmented" backward welding method, which is beneficial to reduce the welding deformation.

  Generally, small nozzle is used for laser welding machine of thin plate, but we suggest to use large nozzle diameter as far as possible, so that the weld protection surface is larger during welding, which can effectively and for a long time isolate air, and make the weld form better oxidation resistance.

  1mm stainless steel vertical welding

  In order to prevent the occurrence of welding pores, if there is rust or oil stain on the welding part, it is necessary to clean it. The power source with vertical external characteristics is used. When DC is applied, the positive electrode (welding wire is connected to the negative electrode) is used. The shielding gas is argon, with a purity of 99.99%. When the welding current is 50-150a, the argon flow is 8-10l / min, and when the current is 150-250a, the argon flow is 12-15l / min. When butt backing, in order to prevent the back of the bottom weld bead from being oxidized, the back also needs to be protected by gas. The length of the tungsten electrode protruding from the gas nozzle is 4-5mm, 2-3mm in places with poor shielding such as fillet welding, 5-6mm in places with deep groove, and the distance from the nozzle to the work is generally no more than 15mm. The length of welding arc is 2-4mm for ordinary steel, and 1-3mm for stainless steel. If it is too long, the protection effect is not good.

  Choosing a reasonable sequence of laser welding machine is very important for controlling the residual deformation of welding. For the structure of symmetrical weld, symmetrical welding should be used as much as possible; for the structure of asymmetry, one with less weld should be welded first, and the other with more weld should be welded later. The deformation of the back welding is enough to eliminate the deformation of the front side, so as to reduce the overall deformation.

  The design of welding structure has the most important influence on welding deformation. The general principle is that with the increase of restraint, the welding residual stress increases, and the welding deformation decreases accordingly. The main influencing factors are welding method, welding heat input (current and voltage), component positioning or fixing method, welding sequence, the use of welding fixture, and the most influential is welding sequence.
