How to cut holes with laser cutting machine?

  One of the cutting technologies of laser cutting machine is cutting and perforating. At present, there are two processing methods of this technology: blasting and pulse perforating. The effect of different cutting and perforating methods is also different. Therefore, before operating the cutting machine for perforating, we must fully understand these two kinds of perforating technologies. So let's introduce these two kinds of perforation technologies in detail.

  Laser cutting and piercing technology: any kind of thermal cutting technology, except for a few cases can start from the edge of the plate, generally a small hole must be pierced on the plate. In the earlier laser stamping compound machine, a punch was used to punch out a hole first, and then the laser was used to start cutting from the small hole. There are two basic methods of piercing for laser cutting machine without stamping device:

  (1) A pit is formed in the center of the blast hole material after being irradiated by a continuous laser, and then a hole is formed by the removal of the molten material by the oxygen flow coaxial with the laser beam. Generally, the hole size is related to the plate thickness, and the average diameter of the blasting hole is half of the plate thickness. Therefore, the hole diameter of the blasting hole for the thicker plate is large and out of round, so it is not suitable to use on the parts with higher requirements (such as the Petroleum screen seam pipe), and can only be used on the waste. In addition, because the oxygen pressure used for perforation is the same as that used for cutting, the spatter is large.

  (2) The pulsed laser with peak power is used to melt or vaporize a small amount of materials. Air or nitrogen is often used as auxiliary gas to reduce the expansion of holes due to exothermic oxidation, and the gas pressure is smaller than that of oxygen during cutting. Each pulse laser produces only a small jet of particles, which gradually deepens, so it takes a few seconds for a thick plate to pierce. Once the laser cutting machine is finished with perforation, the auxiliary gas is immediately replaced with oxygen for cutting. In this way, the hole diameter is smaller and the hole quality is better than the blasting hole. The laser used for this purpose should not only have higher output power, but also have more important time and space characteristics of time beam, so the general cross flow CO2 laser can not meet the requirements of laser cutting.

  As the laser cutting machine mentioned above selects different cutting and perforating methods, its cutting quality and effect are also different. Therefore, before you operate the equipment for processing, you must select a more appropriate cutting and perforating technology based on the needs of customers and the actual use, so that the cutting and processing quality will be better.
