The basic principle of anti-freeze:

The cooling water has a "freezing point". When the temperature of the cooling water is lower than the "freezing point", the volume expansion of the cooling water when it solidifies will cause the over-current components in the laser cooling system, such as the cold water plate, water divider and other components to expand, deform, burst and crack. To prevent the laser from returning to the factory for repair due to damage to the optical components, the following antifreeze protection measures must be taken for the laser to ensure the normal operation of the equipment:


1. Keep the cooler uninterrupted.

In the case of a partial power failure, the cooler can keep running, while setting the low temperature water and normal temperature water to about 5°C (to ensure that the cooling water is above the freezing point, while saving electricity).


2. Drain the cooling water in the machine

Drain the cooling water in the laser and the chiller after each use.

Remove the water inlet pipe from the chiller, and then use compressed gas to ventilate the water inlet to dry the residual water in the chiller.

Remove the water inlet pipe from the laser, and then ventilate the water inlet with compressed gas until the residual water in the water cooling pipe inside the laser flows out of the water outlet. To prevent dust from entering the water pipe, you need to plug the water inlet and outlet with water pipes (or rubber plugs).

3. Use antifreeze instead of cooling water.

Anti-freeze must be used when the environment is often powered off and the cooling water is not drained daily.
